decentralization and budgeting
and fiscal management, the summer training program brought together
AYSPS faculty and World Bank experts with participants from countries
around the world, including officials from Albania, Bahrain, Indonesia,
Macedonia, Pakistan, the Palestinian territories and South Africa.
Indonesia Masters Program

Academic Partnership with
An-Najah National University
With support from the Association Liaison Office (ALO), the International
Studies Program has established a comprehensive partnership with the Department
of Economics at An-Najah
National University, in Nablus, West Bank. The overarching objective
of the partnership is to lay the foundation for more responsive and accountable
governance in the Palestinian territories by building human capacity in
academia, government, and civil society through education and training.
Online Fiscal Policy Resource
Center
The on-line Fiscal
Policy Resource Center is the latest ISP initiative to promote
excellence in the design, implementation, and evaluation of fiscal policy
in developing and transitional economies. A work in progress, the Fiscal
Policy Resource Center aims to make learning materials available on the
internet in the fields of fiscal policy and applied economics. The first
set of materials to be placed online, Principles
of Fiscal Decentralization is designed to provide a clear, structured,
and comprehensive overview of the key dimensions of fiscal decentralization
reform.
New Working Papers
Recent additions to the International
Studies Program Working Paper Series address a diverse set of
public policy topics, including the
impact of government budgets on the poor, expenditure
management reform in Kazahstan and fiscal decentralization and
