Partner Universities in Indonesia
As part of the Indonesian
Masters Program in Applied Economics, the Andrew Young School
is also committed to building the institutional capacity building of the
Indonesian home universities. For instance, the Deans of several of the
students' home universities in Indonesia visited Georgia State University
in February 2002 in order to aid in the development and improvement of
their Economics Faculties (Departments). Together with their colleagues
at the Andrew Young School, the Deans discussed departmental curriculum
issues, met with Georgia State University administrators to learn about
budgeting, college planning, admissions, and personnel issues, and observed
graduate level courses attended by the Indonesian Masters Students. Discussions
were also held regarding possible future exchanges and formal ties between
these Indonesian Universities and the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies
and the introduction of distance learning systems between institutions.
