Visiting International Scholars in Public Policy

Mr. Manoj Shrestha, (Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government in Nepal) visited the Andrew Young School in 2002 as part of his Humphrey Fellowship to learn more about fiscal decentralization policies.

Each year, the International Studies Program hosts numerous international scholars and policy makers as visiting scholars in public policy for short- or long-term exchanges. These visiting scholars are supported through a variety of fellowship and exchange programs, as well as through the Andrew Young International Visiting Scholar Program.

During their stay at the Andrew Young School, visiting scholars are provided with office space and administrative support, enabling international visiting scholars to work with the School's faculty on specific policy topics and engage in applied policy research.

In addition, visiting scholars often present their research as part of the International Studies Program's Lecture Series., while the ISP supports publication of policy-oriented research studies by visiting scholars through its International Studies Working Paper Series.
