Guevera Yao

Guevera Yao is a Research Associate with the International Studies Program at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia State University. Dr. Yao, originally from Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), received his doctorate in Economics from the Andrew Young School in December 2006.

Prior to his graduate studies at GSU he worked as a research assistant to the officer in charge of developing and managing Poverty Alleviation, Public Education and Public Healthcare oriented programs in Africa, at the Operation Evaluation (OPEV), the African Development Bank, a multinational bank group. From September-November 2006, Yao served as a Project Associate in Tanzania as part of the Andrew Young School's support to Local Government Finance Reform in Tanzania. His dissertation topic focused on fiscal decentralization and poverty alleviation outcomes in developing countries, and his research interest include public finance, development economics and applied economic modeling.
